1. Agreement

By accessing or using hagegame.com (the "Site") you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the Site. The Site is operated by the Hage Game editorial team ("we", "us", "our").

2. What the Site is

Hage Game is an independent editorial platform publishing original HTML5 browser games and accompanying writing. All gameplay takes place inside your web browser. No account is required.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher) to use the Site. If you are below the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you must use the Site under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian.

4. Intellectual property — the games

Every game published on Hage Game is original to us. The game design, source code, graphics, audio and accompanying text are created by the Hage Game team and are owned by us, unless we have explicitly stated otherwise on a game's page.

Where third-party assets are used inside a game (for example a font, a generic sound effect from a royalty-free library, or an open-source utility library), we use them under the relevant licence. Attribution and licence information is listed on the corresponding game page. We do not embed games from third-party game-syndication networks. We do not host clones or unauthorised re-implementations of other developers' games.

You may play the games on this Site, for personal, non-commercial use. You may not:

Re-host, mirror, or embed our games on any other website without prior written permission.
Modify, decompile, or create derivative works of our games without prior written permission.
Use our games or characters in commercial products, advertising, or merchandise without prior written permission.
Use automated systems to scrape, index or copy the games or accompanying content at volume.

5. Intellectual property — the writing

All articles, reviews, and guides on the Site are original writing by the Hage Game editorial team. Quotations from third-party sources, where used, are short, attributed, and used under the principle of fair dealing / fair use for purposes of review and commentary.

You may share short excerpts (under 100 words) with attribution and a link back to the source page. Republishing entire articles is not permitted without prior written permission.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Site, accounts, or systems.
Interfere with the operation of the Site, including by introducing malware, conducting denial-of-service attacks, or attempting to overwhelm our infrastructure.
Misrepresent yourself, including by spoofing headers or impersonating any person or entity.
Scrape or harvest content at a rate that materially impacts the operation of the Site.

7. Advertising

The Site is supported by display advertising served by Google AdSense. By using the Site, you acknowledge that advertising will be shown. See our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy for how this works. Editorial content is independent of advertising — see our About page for our standards.

8. Third-party services

The Site uses the following third-party services in its operation: Cloudflare (hosting and content delivery), Google Fonts (typography), and Google AdSense (advertising). Your use of these services is also subject to those providers' terms.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

The Site and the games are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses or other harmful components. Your use is at your own risk.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall the Hage Game team be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from your access to or use of the Site.

11. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless the Hage Game team from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of or in any way connected with your access to or use of the Site, or your violation of these Terms.

12. Copyright complaints

We respect intellectual property and take infringement claims seriously. To report a copyright issue, please follow the procedure in our DMCA / Copyright Notice page.

13. Modifications

We may revise these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be flagged at the top of this page with a new "last updated" date. Your continued use of the Site after a revision constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Termination

We may, at our discretion and without notice, suspend or terminate your access to the Site if we believe you have violated these Terms or applicable law.

15. Governing law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable international principles of contract law. Any disputes that cannot be resolved by good-faith negotiation shall be subject to the courts of the jurisdiction in which the operator is established.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
