DMCA & Copyright Notice

How to tell us about a copyright issue, and what we do about it.

1. Our position

Every game on Hage Game is original to us. Every article is written in-house. We do not embed games from third-party syndication networks. We do not republish content from other outlets. Despite all that, if you believe something on the Site infringes your copyright, we want to hear from you.

2. How to file a notice

To file a Digital Millennium Copyright Act ("DMCA") notice with Hage Game, send the following to legal@hagegame.com:

  1. A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorised to act on their behalf.
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed. If multiple works, a representative list.
  3. Identification of the material on Hage Game that you believe is infringing — please include the exact URL where it appears, with enough detail for us to locate it.
  4. Your name, postal address, telephone number, and email address.
  5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  6. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on behalf of the owner.

Notices that omit any of these elements may not be actionable under the DMCA. We may, but are not required to, contact you for clarification.

3. What happens after we receive a notice

Because Hage Game is operated by two people and only publishes original work, the most likely outcome of a notice is that we will investigate, gather evidence of our authorship, and respond to you with our findings. In the rare event that a notice identifies genuinely infringing material — for example, a third-party asset we licensed that turned out to have unclear provenance — we will remove or disable access to the material promptly and notify you of the action taken.

4. Counter-notice

Because we don't publish third-party content, the typical counter-notice flow (in which a user disputes a takedown of their content) does not generally apply. If you are involved in a situation where it does, write to legal@hagegame.com with a counter-notice meeting the requirements of 17 U.S.C. § 512(g).

5. Repeat infringers

Although Hage Game does not host user-generated content, we maintain a policy of disabling access to material and, where applicable, terminating accounts of repeat infringers in line with the safe-harbour provisions of the DMCA.

6. False claims

Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material or activity is infringing may be liable for damages. Please make sure you have a genuine basis for your claim before filing.

7. Designated agent

The designated agent for copyright notices is the Hage Game legal contact, reachable by email at legal@hagegame.com. We respond to copyright correspondence by email only.
